The Parsec Controller is not working.
Parsec is a proprietary desktop capturing application that is primarily used for video streaming gaming.
Using Parsec, a user can run a game on a server, and then the rendered game screen is compressed and transmitted to another computer over the network, allowing the user to play the game remotely using a low-end device.
Tip: You can use Parsec to set the host device as the server or rent a server from AWS or Paper Space. If you rent a server, you only have to pay for the time you spend playing the game, which ranges from $0.50 to $0.80 per hour.
If your computer isn’t up to par, you can use Parsec to play games. You can use Parsec to convert local multiplayer games to online multiplayer games if you want to play with your friends. In addition, Parsec supports the use of controllers in-game.
However, some users have reported that the Parsec controller is not working. You can try the following methods to solve this problem.
Fix 1. Examine the Controller
If the Parsec controller does not function properly, check to see if it is properly plugged in and if it can function properly in other PCs. If the controller and connection are both working properly, you can try the following methods.
Fix 2: Make use of Xinput (the Xbox Controller API)
Please check Settings > Gamepad to see if Parsec recognises the controller. If not, you should consider converting it to Xinput, the Xbox controller API, using a programme.
Most popular controllers, including genuine Dualshock 4, Dualsense, Switch Pro, Joycon, and Xbox controllers, will function properly. With a Mayflash adapter set to PC mode, Gamecube controllers will work. If you’re using a Wii U Pro controller, you’ll need to install WiinUSoft to convert it to Xinput. WiiUSoft or Wiimote Hook can be used with the Wiimote.
Fix 3. Examine the Drivers
Some software may be incompatible with Parsec controller drivers. The SCP Virtual Bus driver (under System devices in Device Manager) used for Dualshock 3 controllers, and the Zadig software used for Gamecube controllers, for example, will interfere with host drivers. In this case, uninstall them and restart your computer.
Of course, it’s possible that the host drivers don’t work for no apparent reason. In this case, you can either reinstall Parsec or install the drivers directly from ViGEmBus’ github releases, then restart your computer.
Fix 4. Incorrect Game Settings
Parsec will occasionally pass the controller as normal, but the game will not use it. You should investigate whether the issue is related to Parsec. Please launch gamepad-tester.com on the host computer and use the controller to send inputs to see if the Parsec can pass the controller.
If the guest controllers function properly, you should consider the following scenarios:
- If the game is hosted on Arcade and it is unable to detect controllers plugged in after the game has been opened, you may only be able to play it using the Computers tab.
- The host is on the Computers tab, and Settings > Host > Virtual Gamepad Type is set to Dualshock 4. Please select Xbox 360 and restart Parsec from the tray bar.
- You’ve messed with Steam’s controller settings, which may be preventing controllers from working on Steam-added games.
- Some emulators require that you configure the controllers in their settings, while others require that you enable multiplayer somewhere.
